At Sol Terrace, each meal is thoughtfully designed to nourish and restore. Our menu follows an anti-inflammatory approach and is entirely gluten-free, dairy-free, and free of refined sugars — using fresh, whole ingredients to support overall wellbeing.
Menus are chef's choice and change daily with seasonal ingredients. Dinner includes a protein option such as chicken, fish, or steak. We warmly accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences.
Mystique invites you to indulge in an elevated Costa Rican dining experience where bold flavor meets refined artistry. Each evening unfolds with a seasonal tasting menu or à la carte selection inspired by the cultural richness of Costa Rica and the luxury culinary traditions that define us.

An integral part of The Retreat since the very beginning — Sergio transforms clean, nourishing ingredients into vibrant, memorable dishes across all three restaurants. Loved by guests and known for his warm presence, he is a defining part of The Retreat experience.
A true guest favorite — Jonathan curates our wine list including local organic wines, crafts cocktails and mocktails inspired by Costa Rica's vibrant flavors, and leads our popular mixology and infusions classes. Whether recommending a pairing or creating something entirely new, he makes every sip memorable.
What Guests Say
What stood out the most was the food. The quality of ingredients, creativity, presentation, flavor, and nutritional value is outstanding. We also did the Mystique dinner. This was by far the best culinary experience we've ever had.
The food was something we looked forward to every day — we never knew what the chef was going to come up with, and somehow every single meal was both nourishing and delicious. And totally different!
I would venture to say this is THE best food in Costa Rica, as I have lived and traveled here extensively for years. The food is artfully prepared — a feast for all the senses. Don't let "plant based" fool you.
